Post subject: Savviest way to earn a free international airline ticket
I was wondering what the savviest way to earn a free international airline ticket. Specifically, I am interested in going to New Zealand. I have credit cards from citi and mbna, but I dont think I want to spend that kind of dough just for a free ticket (doesn't make any sense, financially speaking). Just wondering, I know it's a little wierd, but I am just wondering if anyone has any advice?

You need an AIRLINES CARD
Like DELTA or UNITED or USAIR or AMERICAN or SOME OTHER AIRLINES CARD
It is like 60,000 miles per ticket from the STATES to New Zealand
Unless things change by the time you earn that much.......

The savviest way would probably be to figure out the cost of actually buying a ticket, and then thinking of ways to earn that much money... overtime, a better paying job, a part-time second job, etc... maybe even combine that with an airline fare discount card like Amex Blue Sky where you deduct your earned savings amounts from the price of the ticket you purchase. Just a couple ideas.

If you want to fly economy, buy the ticket yourself, that's the cheapest way.
If you want to fly premium, cheapest way is to get airline miles and exchange for biz/first seat. But unless you also fly regularly (which is the fastest way to accumulate miles for most people), or you regularly charge $120000 a year on your cc, its going to take you a long, long time to accumulate sufficient miles.
In addition, if you don't fly regularly enough to earn elite status on airlines (~25000 miles flown in a year earns elite status), many airline affiliated cards will limit the miles you can earn per year.
