Help, I know I have many credit cards open...I only use 1 but have opened many over the past 35 years, but then put them away. I understand I should cancel all but the ones I use. I don't remember all of them or know how to find out which ones I have. Where do I begin? Then how do I find out their address to cancel? Pleae help!

Your credit reports will list all open accounts, with the address for each creditor. I think they list only part of your account number, but that should be sufficient to identify you and your account. Write to each creditor and ask that your account be closed. You'll probably get a follow up call from the creditor trying to get you to keep the account, but you can insist that it be closed.
I know that they recomend not closing accounts but I sleep better with fewer open accounts.

You are entitled to one free credit report per year for each of the 3 major credit reporting agencies Experian Equifax and TransUnion - right now you can get all 3 reports going to this link:
www.annualcreditreport.com
Once you get a copy of your credit reports it will show all accounts across all 3 reports that you own. These credit reports will have the addresses for each company that you can write directly to them and close the accounts.
You can also call the credit reporting agency for the most current up to date address on that creditor. Sometimes they have more up to date info if you call in.
