I still have a 5.9 fixed rate on purchases and balance transfers from MBNA . I've had the same rate since the account opened in 2004 with a 19k limit. Anyone else?

I have accepted balance transfer for life offers from Citi, Cap 1, Amex. and ATT Universal (also a Citi card). All are still in effect and the fixed low rates have never changed. I also have several short term fixed rate card balances. All it takes is a single late payment to ratejack one or all to sky high levels, so I am extra careful to never be late. I always pay at their web sites, pay at least two weeks ahead of the due dates, copy down the confirmation numbers, and go online again to verify that the payments posted. From reading what other people have posted, I know that some card companies will try to pull a fast one and claim that they did not receive a payment on time. So I suggest that you accept low rate offers, but spend the extra time to keep track of the payments and acknowledge that there is some risk involved.
