Post subject: Citi Refer a friend $25 promotion
Citi is really starting to get under my skin. I got an email from them that says I can earn up to $125 by referring friends and family to apply for the Dividend Platinum Select card. However, there is a code that it generates when I follow the directions on the email which does not work. I have called Citi and their customer service is no help. I emailed Citi and their first response was totally inept. I replied to the message they sent me pointing out how their answer does not help.
Has anyone else gotten this offer? What are your experiences with it? I have people that want to apply for the card and I want the $25 cash back bonus but it says if they don't use the promo code it generates then I won't get the bonus. BUT THE CODE DOESN'T WORK

I had a great experience with this last year. Two people signed up for it and although it took 4 months I eventually got my $50. I just received this offer again and sent one to my dad and it seemed to work fine. How did you find out the offer code didn't work? Would it not send the emails or did your friends try the link and it didn't work.

Great, so it looks like it might only be affecting me. I know the code doesn't work because someone I sent it to replied to the email they received, asking me what the code is supposed to be. On the email that it sent them, it says that the code is: "0PROMO_A missing"
It is rather funny because it has the word "missing" as part of the code. When anyone clicks on "Apply Now" in the email it automatically fills in the above code but when you click on the "Apply" button it gives the following error message:
The information entered does not match our records. Please try again, or select Continue below to apply without it. NOTE: Your friend will not receive his/her reward if the number is not used.
The 2nd reply I received back from Citi just now told me I need to call and request a Supervisor. I already told them I called and didn't get any help and I spoke with a Supervisor. On the phone their solution was to have my friends and family apply for the card and if they get approved I will need to mail them their names and addresses. But I don't have very much confidence this will work! Why couldn't she just give me a code that works? This is my first time dealing with their customer service and am not impressed.

So I decided to call again and the guy put me on hold over and over and finally just handed me to his manger without me even asking for it. Was told by the manager that they have sent this to their tech dept and that they will be sending a new email to me with the offer. I told them I'd be watching for the email but this was a couple days ago. So still waiting.
