Post subject: Union Plus Credit Card Acceptance Certificate
I just received a Union Plus Card Acceptance Certificate, for an Electrical Workers Master Card. I have until July 6th to send in the Acceptance Certificate. I was wondering if anyone knows if my completion of this acceptance certificate guarantees my receipt of this card or would they then have to pull a credit report and make their decision based on my Credit Score? Since I am on credit rebuild status I don’t want an inquiry that is going to result with a denial. However, I know that there are sometimes pre-approved cards for certain groups and I can’t tell if this is one of them. They have the website www.unionpluscard.com/applynow. Any input?

Expect to have a credit report pulled when you complete your application.

They will pull a credit report on you, but if you have been pre-approved, you are probably a little ahead of the game. If you dont get approved, the only thing that will show up is one inquiry, and if thats all, then its not too bad.

Thanks for your replies! I guess an inquiry will go on my report, which from my understanding would effect my credit score. Can anyone estimate, how many points it would decrease my score if at all, realizing that this is one of maybe 6 other inquiries on my report right now. Thanks

Between 1 and 5 points. The inquiry itself is not a big deal, credit score-wise
