Post subject: AMEX and a World of Service
I wanted to take a moment to voice my happiness with American Express after a recent bad experience with them.
I have an AMEX Gold Rewards Card. I like to take advantage of American Express Selects, which are offers for discounts on travel, shopping, and so forth.
Back in March I had problems with a hotel who refused to accept an offer. There was more behind it then just this. However, to keep this post under 10 pages I am leaving out the details.
So, I contacted AMEX, they said they would look into why the hotel would not accept the offer and get back to me. A week goes by and nobody contacts me. I send an e-mail to AMEX and no reply.
I forget about it, book another hotel and move on.
Same situation happens this week. The two hotels I want to stay at won’t accept the AMEX promotion code.
I contact AMEX customer service, they look into it. Their hands are tied and I end up speaking to a supervisor. They inform me Amex selects is a separate division of AMEX and they cannot help me.
In turn, they gave me a $50 account credit. I for one was impressed. Amex always takes care of you when they do wrong. A+++ AMEX!!
