Post subject: Update: Just approved for HSBC card replacement
New card is a Citi Driver's Edge Platinum with $3,600 limit at 13.74% with 0% on transfers for 12 months. Just a wee bit better than that $250 pittance HSBC gave me...
One side note for anyone looking for this card to do a balance transfer.. From the approval page:
"The transaction fee for Balance Transfers is 3.0% of the amount of the balances transferred with a minimum of $5 and a maximum of $75. However, there is no balance transfer fee with this offer."
$75 is a 50% bump from the $50 limit most cards have. What's nice with this offer, though, is that last sentence

Tonight I got a Citi Diamond Preferred application in the mail. Figures that I get it right after I got approved for the above card, but decided it would be worth a shot.
The result: $6,000 CL @ 10.49%. Considering that the "best case" APR in the Schumer Box was 10.24%, I can't complain
One slightly disconcerting thing: They gave me the account number and exp date immediately, with $1000 CL available until I get and activate the card. This smacks of a being a wide open door for identity thieves. They did not include the CVV number, of course, which means using the card online isn't possible.. So why give the number online in the first place?
