Credit Card Offer For Rebuilding Credit From Capital One

Post subject: Should I try this Capital One offer?

My case:

I'm not an US citizen, when I arrived to the US I started applying for credit cards not knowing anything about how the credit reporting agencies work.

Today I have a secured card from Bank of America (since november) and just got approved for an orchard bank secured.

I applied about a month ago for a Capital One card and got denied because my credit history is too short. I don't even have credit scores because my credit history isn't 6 months old!

Yesterday I received this offer in the mail from C1:

Quote:

If building your credit history is important to you, there's good news. You're confirmed for a visa Platinum card offer from capital one...

they are offering 0% apr for 6 months for a $39 annual fee. I think the fee is the catch because the cards they offer on their website have no fee, anyway $39 is not a big deal for me if this card can benefit my credit history. I've received dennials because I have "too few revolving accounts".

Should I try this offer and risk me to another hard inquiry on my credit report?

Anyone have had a similar situation ? got approved?

Is it true a Capital One card will hurt my score instead of helping ? (as I understand they won't report your credit limit, they will only report the balance on your account).

Any comment will be welcome!

I see no reason for you to et the cap 1 card.

You already have 2 secured. Wait and get a prime card down the road.

Cap 1 isnt so bad that it would hurt your scores unlike one of those personal loan places like citifinancial.

Cap 1 reports my credit limit on 2 of the three CRA and they report my huge balance on the other.

Hi!
Have a Miles One Business with them with a 2K limit

Not one of my favorites... Got really fed up with the constant phone calls
regarding purchases on my account. If you spend like over 200, they needed to Verify constantly A pain in the a*&
