here's the deal. any card that gives 5% cash back at supermarkets, you buy gift cards for the other stores such as rest. home depot, etc. if you are going to home depot, stop at safeway and buy a gift for whatever dollar amount you're going to spend there. now you get 5% cash back since you made the purchase at the supermarket. most supermarkets now days sells gift card for other stores. it works for me, but it's annoying sometimes.

Don't the supermarkets charge a premium for the gift cards?
In other words, are you charged $25.00 for a $25 gift card--or more? And if more, how much more? Doesn't that premium eat into your 5% bonus?

wow, that is bold. Isn't selling a competitor's gift card an invitation to lose customers?

I know my local WalGreens offers gift cards and they sell them at face value. So, this should work there as well (at least in theory).
