I applied and was approved for a WMT CC, but with a whopping $290 limit I almost thought about killing it before I got it. I’ve heard a couple of my friends mention that they got $200-$300 limits also, is this the going rate for their cards? It’s issued by GE Money Bank, who I also have a Lowe’s card from with a $1,000 limit… But come on, $290?? Will that make my score any better having a limit that low?

As low as $75 on another board
I have almost $4,000
Use it and pay on time
Every 3–4 months you should be able to get a HARD FREE CLI
(call if you don’t get one with-out asking)
CLI is based on payments not CRA

Although the WMT CC has it’s uses — maybe more lenient acceptance policy? — but what is the benefit from it? You get 3¢/G discount on WMT/Sams Club gasoline, but can get 5% cash back (11¢ @ $2.30/G) with other cards. And the Discover version is only “up to 1%”. I presume the tiers are in increasing order, i.e., 1% over $3000? Okay, there is the $20 fee-free (I believe) cash advance per day with purchase.
