Credit Tips: Trading Credit Cards

Post subject: Convert Credit Card

I have had a student card since my freshman year and am now about to graduate from college. Have used the card quite a bit over the past 4 years and have always paid in full every month.

Was wondering if it is possible that I could call my CC company (Chase) and have this card converted into a regular cash-back card. Has anyone ever heard of anyone doing this and if it is possible does the converted card still have the same info. as my previous card on my credit report?

Call and try. If not not a big deal….. Keep the card until your new accounts get a couple of years under them and then cancel it. Your credit history will be plenty long
