Ive never checked my credit report along with my fico scores and would like to and ran into myfico.com, and was wondering if it is a reliable site to get that info from. Also, how long does it take before I get sent my credit report and exactly how does the whole process works. I see it cost money, but hey its an important document so I was expecting any different.

If you prefer a one time deal:

You can check your credit report for free on www.annualcreditreport.com (beware as there are many other sites like this that are scams). The score you have to pay separately, but the reports are recieved almost instantly online.

If you prefer a constant program to monitor your files:

I have not used MyFICO.com, but I will recommend IdentityTheft.com. That is what I do use and have been using for over a year now. I'm pretty satisfied with it. You get a new credit report every three months. It might be a little expensive or not for some ($9.99/month for three credit bureaus - but only credit score from Equifax (not a FICO Score but close enough).

I believe BankofAmerica also have one, but that company ran into many fraud problems in the past, which is quite ironic. Not sure if they provide that service though. I think the company was called Triligiant or something.

By law you are entitled to one free copy of your credit report annually. There's no need to pay for it. go to www.annualcreditreport.com. Also, if you're ever turned down for credit you're entitled to a free copy of your credit report. These reporting "services" are commercial enterprises. The "score" that they report may or may not be your true FICO score that would be reported to credit grantors.

If you don't mind paying for a credit report I feel myfico is the best site. I like their presentation of the report/fico score the most and the fico score is one of the most trusted as actual. The report is sent to you instantly right after payment.

Of course I get my free reports for all 3 credit agencies yearly prior to paying through www.annualcreditreport.com.

I'm wondering if you can just get your fico score without any report through myfico and pay a tiny fee. I haven't been able to find that option.

Don't think that is an option...have been looking for that option myself. Guess they wouldn't make enough $$$ just selling the score a la carte.
