Post subject: 5x Thank you points for discount and department stores?
I logged into my MTVU citicard account yesterday afternoon. I saw an advertisement saying "Get 5x Thank You points at discount and department stores up to Dec 31, 2005". I got excited and clicked on it. I was brought to another page showing 3 useless citi offers. When I went back to the main page, that 5x Thank You points was gone. I logged on a number of times after that hoping to see that 5x Thank You Points advertisement again but never saw it again. Does anyone here know what I am talking about? Does anyone know how to get that special 5x Thank You points at discount and dept stores offer?

Darn it! Have you checked the following site:
Student.CitiCards.com
They have limited time offers posted there.
How do you like using your MTVU card otherwise?

I got an email about my Citi AT&T universal card (basic no rewards) with an offer of 5% statement credit until 12/31/05 for deparment and discount stores. Went into my account and clicked on manage my account special offers and it was the only offer.
It wasn't on any of my other Citi cards (professional, driver's edge, upromise, or diamond rewards.)

Post subject: 5x Thank you points
I got a mailing from Citi just today announcing the 5x points at department stores and discount stores. They give a phone number
1-877-353-8162 or you can visit www.citicards.com. But you have to give an "Invitation Number" shown on the letter to activate your account. This is for my Citi Diamond Card, which I rarely use, but I went online and activated the 5x anyway.
My main card is the Citi Platinum Select, although I have already hit my $300 cash back limit for the year. For the rest of the year I'm using my Chase Cash Rewards card.

Thank you all for the information.
I went to Student.CitiCards.com. Unfortunately I couldn't find that 5x thank you points there. I called 1-877-353-8162 but needed an invitation number like sammy said. I hope I get an invitation for 5x in the mail.
Other than that I do like the MTVU credit card. It gives me free points for achieving a good GPA. The downside is I only had this card since 09/2005 and this is my 4th yr in university so I wouldn't be able to get thank you points for GPA after I graduate. I also wouldn't be able to stack up points for bookstore purchases (bookstores give me 5x) as I won't be buying textbooks after I graduate. Will probably still find use for 5x restaurants though.
I wonder when MTVU cc was introduced? I just knew about it 2 months ago.
