Post subject: Does anyone know anything about issuer JCB?
I am taking the kids to Tokyo next year and applied for a JCB (Japanese Credit Bureau)credit card. We aslo have a Mitsuwa Japanese store in NJ and I had hoped to get the cobranded card so that we can use it to shop there and receive discounts.
I had to jump through hoops just to apply, such as writing to them in both Japanese and English to request the ability to apply. No easy feat since I don't speak Japanese. All applications have to be through the mail and there is no way to checkthe status of the application, either online or by phone.
Does anyone here know about JCB?

Yes. I already applied. How long did it take from the time you mailed your app till you found out whether you were getting a card?
$1000 would be fine for me.
