Post subject: Does anyone here use credit cards with 0% interest offers…
to buy something that you normally wouldn’t buy and make payment on the item till the 0% promo runs out?
I’m thinking about buying a high end digital camera and notebook for my new business this way and paying in payments so that the last payment will be made before the 0% interest promo runs out. I could PIF, but I’d rather keep that money in my account earning interest.
What do you all think..is this a stupid or smart idea?

One thing I have learned, “There are no stupid questions!” You feel good doing this with your money, then by all means do it! You state you want to allow your money to earn interest rather than PIF so you have stated YOUR choice! Too many opinions will find you doing nothing…believe me! I almost allowed my husband to change my mind about buying a doll because he said “Yuck look at that ugly baby!”….I’m buying it anyway….in the past I would have cared what he thought…LOL.

Sounds like a good plan. Make those 0% offers work for you, nothing stupid about that.

The only down side is that you fail to meet the terms or forget to pay it off on time. I have a discover card that has 0% interest for life on balance xfrs. The only PITA is that you must make two $2 purchases a month.
As long as you are able to meet the terms you’ll be OK
