Post subject: Did APR go up for Citi Dividend Platinum?

I thought this was 12.99 yesterday, today I look and its 17.49??

Am I forgetting something, or has the NCAA Tournament numbed my brain to only comprehend Greg Gumbel?

I noticed on their website that this is the going rate for new applications as evident in the following terms and conditions:

Dividend Card

As with most creditors there is the iniquitous proviso included with most credit card offers that states: "We may change the rates, fees, and terms of your account at any time for any reason".

Hmm...still says 12.99% through the link on our home page- www.CardRatings.com.

From the terms/conditions:

The purchases and balance transfer rate equals the U.S. Prime Rate** plus 5.49%.

**Prime is currently 7.5%.

Post subject: Yes, the rate has gone up on the Citi Dividend Card

Earlier this week Citibank did increase the rate on it's Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card to prime plus 9.99% which is 17.49%.

Going from 12.99% to 17.49% is a big jump. Does anyone on this forum care to speculate what's behind this move?
