I love credit cards. I just got a Chase Cash Plus card about two and a half months ago. Yesterday I got a letter from Chase with a check for $20. I cash the check, they enroll me in their little credit protector program free for 30 days. I get offers like this from Citi occasionally but they are usually checks for like $2-3. I couldn't believe they are giving me $20.
Credit protection programs are a waste of cash in my opinion, especially on a cash back card. But hey if I can make $20 by doing nothing more than making a call to cancel when my enrollment info comes, I am all for it. I love working the deals that credit cards offer. It is so much fun, you just have to be smart about it and you'll always come out ahead.
