Post subject: Capital One-- Explore USA
Anyone here been given a "free, introductory period" of Explore USA on their Capital One card? Apparently they give me like 6 months of free service (no idea what the service is), then automatically renewed the subscription at an annual rate of $89.99. I never received any information about the program, but cancelled it in 2002.
--now is where I explain about how I am currently responsible but while in college did not pay attention to my bills--
I got a statement in March of '05 congratulating me on another year with the service. Again they automatically charged $89.99 to my account. Being the responsible and credit-savvy person that I now am, I, of course, diisputed the charge. They just now reimbursed me a portion of that amount... $17. Apparently, I owed them for the portion of the year it took them to credit my account.
The representative that I spoke to (at Explore USA) told me she would be sending me a form that I must fill out to request a full refund. Never sent. I called them to tell them that the amount was not sufficient and I would like all fees reimbursed since 2002.
I will keep you all informed.
Has anyone else out there been had by thie "business partner" of Capital One?
