Credit Card for International Student Purchases

Could anybody tell me of a credit card, apart from American Express 'Blue for Students', to which an international student can apply without getting rejected solely on the basis of his/her being an alien Non-immigrant/international student? I have tried MBNA Student Cards, Citibank Credit Cards and Bank of America. Thanks!

That does not really answer the question... when applying for a Credit Card, you will need an SSN , while being a non-immigrant it seems to be next to impossible to get one.
With an SSN you could finally get that "LOW LIMIT" credit card, so i guess the question is how do you get an SSN while not being a permanent citizen of the USA?
