When does the new credit card "credit line" show up on the credit history/report? When you're approved? Or when you activate the card?

when you get the card
after you get the card
many months after you get the card
never

activating the card has nothiing to do with reporting, it tells the credit card company that you got your card, that is all it does

What happens if I don't activate my card for a long time? Do some companies kill the card then?

May very well be possible that they only give so much time to see activation then they cancel the account.

What is your situation, are you sitting on one of these now, that you have been delaying activation then?
