Post subject: Can a AU Become Named as a Joint CC Holder?

I'm AU on a number of my mothers cards and I'd like to become a joint account holder. Is this possible? I've never seen any threads on this subject.

There should be no problem for converting over to joint account holder, but the creditor may pull your credit report before approving joint status.

Usually only reason I would see to be joint, is if you are going to be jointly using and paying on the account, or like if you needed control of the account (like in case of power of attorney).

It opens up your ability to communicate with customer service to make nessassary changes to the account.

Do you know what happens to account history for the orginal user and for the new person? Possibly a good way to increase the average age of accounts?

How do they calculate account ages? Only for open accounts or are closed accounts added in somehow also?

Probably do a "HARD" (Unless you have positive prior business with that company)

I have a couple of "JOINT" credit cards but most are individual and a few "AU"

You later want out...you CAN'T unless the account is closed
