A lot of people here, especially the board monitor, seem to like this card for travel rewards. Unfortunately, I just don’t get exactly how this works, so I am hoping I can get some answers from the fans of this card.
So you can earn points for miles that other people fly. Do these people have to fly with you? Or can you just buy airplane tickets for people whenever they fly? For example, my parents fly internationally all the time. Can I just compile points by buying their tickets for them and claiming their miles without travelling with them?
I was thinking the terms and conditions on this card would answer these questions, but they don’t even mention them (unless I’m looking in the wrong place).
Also, what do you think about the elite level card? Worth the 75 bucks in my situation? Looks like the standard card cuts the miles you earn on flights by a third, which seems significant in my case. Hope you can respond on this BoardMonitor! thanks

jgu45,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the board! Did you click on the tab entitled “Traveling with a group” on the home page? This should answer your questions.
Regarding elite…if you fly alot, then it is probably worth the price tag. Just have to do the math. Let us know what you decide!
Out of curiosity, how did you find out about our website?

I did look at the Group tab, but it doesn’t answer my main question. The Group tab describes a scenario of the cardholder travelling with the group, and buy their tickets. In my case, I would like to know if I can stay at home, but still buy other people’s tickets and get their miles. So basically, can I buy plane tickets for people and earn miles on their flights without travelling with them?
Another question to further the topic of Elite vs. Standard…receiving a mile for every 3 miles flown (standard), does this also go for the miles of the tickets you buy for your friends and family?
Thanks for the help. I saw this website if a standard internet search of credit card forums. This is the only credit card forum I found with some good info on it.
