Hi everyone, was hoping someone can help me understand the cash rebate tiers. I have the Amex blue cash, and I don’t understand the tiered rebates completely.

Spending Grocery Others
0-2000 0.5% 0.25%
2000-6000 1% 0.5%
6000-50000 3% 1.5%

If you have a balance outstanding, add 2%.

My question is, is the additional 2% only applicable to the amount of balance? Or is it throughout any month you have a balance, you get extra 2%, even if the balance outstanding is $1 ?

2% more??? even $1.00 YES

There are BETTER cards out there…for most people a 1% for everything would have a better payout than “THIS” card

There are some that have a payout up to 5% at specific places…

I dumped my AMEX BLUE CASH…did a 2 into 1 and closed the BLUE CASH

I would have chosen citi div. too, but I had no credit history till 2 months ago when I suddenly got a cc. 2nd application was for amex blue cash and got that too, and I’m very happy about having a rewards cc.

Whatever works for you I guess. Dividend is good, but for big spenders, I think the blue cash is far superior. A few folks on this board disagree with that, but whatever works best for you is the reward card you should choose and stick with.
