Does anyone know where I can find info/comparison on how many small businesses use American Express vs. Visa or Mastercard?

Try using google.com, key words= small busines association, credit card acceptance.


This info may be hard to find because each day point of sale terminals are set up and also the exact definition of a small business varies from locale to locale. Also consider that a lot of internet small businesses accept visa and mastercard but indirectly through an atm or third party.

Also search the wall street journal archives using the same keyords above. Their business section will have estimates and projections but how reliable I don't know.

I would also suggest doing a search on cardforum.com. This site is considered to be an industry leader when it comes to providing stats for the credit card industry.
