I am curious as to how you selected this card as being
the best rebate card available.
Compare AMEX to the Shell Mastercard (1% free gas on
all purchases and 2% on Shell Purchases).
Shell Mastercard is better up to the annual spending
amount of $11,000. After that point AMEX is better.
Most people charge less then $11,000 per year. At the
very minimum, annual spending should be discussed.
Anyone who carries a balance is better off with a low
interest card and not a reward card. AMEX card is a
Very Very poor choice for anyone who carries a
balance.
Shell pays out each month by giving credit towards gas
(most people buy enough gas to consider it as good as
cash). AMEX makes you wait until the end of the year.
It is not possible to use AMEX in many places.
Mastercard/Visa always work where AMEX works.
Carrying only the AMEX is not realy an option.
Carrying only a Mastercard is an option. Since some
expenses will have to be made using Mastercard, the
$11,000 spending per year will be even less likely to
be exceeded on the AMEX card

Dear Chris,
Thanks for your feedback! The AMEX card is our favorite overall CASH-BACK
card, not our favorite overall rebate
card. We list this card at the top our “Card Rewards” (under the category
Cash-Back card) because most people that are interested in card rebates prefer to
have cash rebates. We also feature the Shell Card on our “Rewards Card
Report”.
You do make some good points, though (all of which I agree with by the way). Thanks again for your post…I hope it generates some feedback!
Regards,
Jackie Hughes
