First USA has recently decided to renig on terms made over the phone !!
A First Card account (now owned or service by First USA) terminated a
"teaser rate"
a month early resulting in about $500 extra finance charge.
Another First USA account initiated a balance transfer with "no
transaction fee".
The current online statement included a $50 transaction fee. Telephone
inquiry with Greta
of First USA, indicated that there was always a fee associated with that
teaser rate. She
finally agreed to waive it and retain the 3.9 % rate. I wonder what the
paper statement
will say.
If you do business with First USA be sure to check your statement
carefully. They
will do most anything to get more money from their customers. This change
in attitude may have something to do with BancOne
merger/acquisition/sale/force-reduction
