Post subject: What credit card to get if I have a blank credit report?
I need to know what credit card to get if I have a blank credit report. I don't want to really waste my time and add inquiries by picking a card that will not approve me. I make $4k a month i'm 20(21 in Sept.) I rent and I have nothing on my credi report(I checked all 3).

Aaron,
Try a store card, such as JCPenney, Home Depot, Sears, etc, although don't expect to get much more than $200-$300 to start with.
Also try your local Credit Union - you may have some luck there especially if you've had a checking or savings account with them for 6 months or more - if not, open one!
Failing that, you may have to resort to a secured card, although watch out for those annual fees, monthly service fees, and one time activation fees that together can eat up your whole credit line!

As David suggested, a credit union is a good place to start.
American Blue isn't the easiest card to get. Household Bank, Capital One, and Chase (to name a few) are among the easiest unsecured cards to get.
Don't take to heart the reasons American Blue gave you, since they are often not forthright, and downright misleading about this sort of thing.
I have a friend with excellent credit scores, and long history with other cards, yet American Blue turned her down for a host of reasons which didn't make any sense. Even claiming "this card isn't available in your state" which I know to be a lie.
When I reviewed her application I found the problem (she claimed less than $15,000 income) yet American Blue never mentioned this.
If the bankruptcy is still showing up on your credit report that would pose the biggest problem. (it should come off in 7 or 10 years depending on the type of BK)

LOIS DREITLEIN,
You are a risk to the Credit Card Company.. People who file BKO, are more likely to do it again.., No matter if it is 1 year, or 10 years.. Once the BKO is off from your Credit reports, you will have more success..Automobiles are secured loans.. Credit Cards are not.. They will not take a chance on you again, if you did not pay them before..
