Hi,
Can someone please tell me how to get a full balance transfer offer? I currently have a Discover Card Account with a balance of approximately $4,500.00. In the past when I have applied for a balance transfer only (I intend not to charge any new purchases, just pay down the current balance at a lower rate), I am only offered about $500.00 to $1,000. But credit is good. I have no late payments whatsoever, and this is the only balance I have left. I have a Wachovia for backup ($1,000 limit). What can I do? I very much need a lower rate card, but would like it for the full amount to pay off Discover (current rate 15.99%). Discover considers this a low rate!
Also, can you know of ANY credit card that computes its average daily rate EXCLUDING new purchases. I seemed to have read that this type of card exists, but I certainly haven't seen any!

Chocalate,
You might want to try one of the transfer offers featured on our "Balance Transfers" page at http://www.cardratings.org/transfers.html. The BofA offer is particularly attractive. This offer is not an introductory offer, but rather features a permanent transfer rate. Our "Balance Transfers" page also includes several other offers from other card issuers.
A few notes of advice.
1) Check your credit report if you haven't already. You can find more info. at...
http://www.cardratings.org/creditreport.html
2) Also, do not continue to apply for additional cards on a freqent basis. Inquiries can hurt your credit rating and if you continue to apply for cards, your chances of getting an attractive limit lessen.
3) Even if you have good credit, you credit rating and/or income may be preventing you from getting higher credit limits. More info. here..

Hope this helps!
