I see that the fed cut rates by a half point.Does this apply to variable credit cards as well,Or just morgages and loans..Gee these banks like Discover with these fixed rates 16.99% are going to make out like bandits..Maybe i should get rid of these fixed ones and get the variables..Now i have one other question.I have Nextcard at 15.99% Variable and last statment said it was 15.99% and i think it doeant go below that either.Should i transfer $5,500 from discover at 16.99% to the 15.99% ext card with no BT fee,s? I figure the Discover 1.9% expires 11/2001 and if i do switch they will offer me another transfer at a loow rate for 6 more months..What do you all think?

The Federal Reserve cut the Prime Rate by .5%. This has no direct bearing on you & I. It's the rate at which banks can borrow from the Federal Reserve for short terms. Banks may or may not pass the saving on to their clients. Usually they don't.
