I would check out national city...They start at 3.9% for 6 months then go to 13.49% variable

There are significant differences among Platinum Cards. American Express set the standard with their Platinum Charge Card. No other Platinums are even close to that of AmEx in terms of features and benefits. The Platinums offered by VI/MC pale in comparison. The only similarity is the color of the plastic. Because of the drop in prestige of holding a platinum card, AmEx came out with the Centurion card.

Ha! good luck getting a centurion card. I think you have to charge close to 250k a year on your current platinum amex to be invited for that card... you can't apply for it.

John:
I should have mentioned the point that the Centurian is by invitation only and carries a $1,000 annual fee. I would not be surprised if you were required to charge $250K+ to the Platinum in order to receive the Centurian. I use to charge well over $100K to my Platinum and never received an invitation. I actually cancelled my Platinum a few years ago because Diners Club started treating me like royalty--extra points, no annual fee, etc. My business travel expenses dwindled over the past couple of years so now I carry the AmEx Starwood, Amoco Visa, and MBNA Travel Rewards. My only point for mentioning the AmEx Platinum and Centurion is to demonstrate that not all Platinum cards are equal. The what you pay is what you get syaing applies here. For example, AmEx gives you free access to Continental and Northwestern airlines clubs. This alone is worth the annual fee. No VI/MC offers you club access.
