I currently have a Capital One Gold Visa (APR 9.9%). I have had it for about 1.5 years. I still am at the same credit limit. I have never once paid a bill late, and most times pay the balance in full.
Can I call Capital One and ask them to increase my limit? If I do, will they look down upon it and possibly charge me a higher rate? Will this show up on my credit report?
Your help is appreciated

Michelle you can request a credit limit increase every six months. Be aware that Capital One is a very conservative company meaning they will not give you a high credit line increase. It is usually done by calling the number in the back of your credit card and all you do is punch in some numbers and the credit increase is done on the spot without talking with a representative. Capital One does not report your credit limits, they only report your highest balance on the account. If you are not happy with the credit limit increase that you get I recommend you go to www.epinions.com and post a complaint on Capital One. They have a special department called the Consumer Advocate Dept and they will get in contact with you and take care of your complaint. This special department will do everything they can to make you a happy customer. Good luck !!!
