Are their any credit cards out there that give incentives on getting free gas without having to go to a specific gas station, just by using the credit card? Thanks in advance

Gas rewards cards give you a percentage rebate which differs on whether you use the card for general purchases or those at the sponsored gas station. Unfortunately, you need to redeem the rebate at the sponsored gas company.

You could get a cashback card and spend the rebate on gas.

Tina,

The short answer is no. All of the gas & oil credit cards will credit you with a certain percentage rebate on all gas purchases at their particular brand, and a smaller percentage for all other purchases. The best one I know of is the Shell MasterCard from Chase Manhattan Bank. It gives you a 5% rebate for all Shell purchases and 1% rebate on all other purchases. If you buy gas at more than one station, do what I did & get several cards, one for each brand you patronize. That way you can be sure of never again paying full price.
