It looks like the Farm Bureau card has the greatest rebate percentage of all charge cards, being a full 2% on general purchases (not just gasoline) if you redeem after $35,000 in purchases. Is there a higher rebate percentage for general purchases?

My real question: Has anybody redeemed from Farm Bureau? Do they pay? Do they give you any trouble?

I can not find anywhere a review on this card by an actual card user.

Thank you all.

I just got this card a couple of weeks ago. The rebate program has been around for about a year, so I do not think there are many people who redeemed their points yet.

The risk that they would change their rebate program is pretty much existent, I think. But I figured, the risk that they do that before I spend $2,500, is minimal. By then I would be able to redeem at least 1%.

I would think if they change it they'll change the top end, so you're likely to get at least 1%. I know in the early days a lot of issuers thought they'd make up for rebates in interest payment only to find rebate card holders as a group aren't inclined to pay revolving interest. There's no excuse now for an issuer to not understand this going in now though.

GM Card is still paying out 5% (capped at $500 per year times 7 years). They have been around long enough that I will cash in a $3500 rebate early next year...assuming they don't cancel between now and March. I will then close that account and stick to cash rebates that are redeemable in the not too distant future.

IMO, 2% cash after a while is better than 5% applied toward a GM. I suppose if you are a GM enthusiast it might be different.

To All,

Thanks for your feedback on this card. Since this card is relatively new, we are looking for a lot of feedback from actual cardholders. I personally don't think they will be able to continue the current reward structure for very long since profits in the credit card industry are down considerably as of late. Time will tell, though. Thanks again!
