Credit Tips: Does Consumer Credit Counseling Show Up on Credit Report

I paid off all my cards through a non profit card counselor. I never missed a payment and was never late.. I have since applied for several new cards but have been turned down because of “bankruptcy”. I have never filed or indeed, “gone bankrupt”. I wonder if this is because of going to the card conseler…..thanks, Chris

Chris,

You should get copies of your credit reports and see what is on there. Consumer Credit Counseling would not show up as bankruptcy.
