The Discover Card offer promoted on your site has a big downside that you may want to call attention to. There is no maximum service charge for balance transfers. Usually there is a charge of 3% with a max of $35.00 or so. For someone like me with a large balance to transfer (8500.00), the transfer charge almost wipes out the benefit of transferring.

I just got 5.90% no BT fee.
0.00% is advertised on their web site (new applications).
Call and ask for no BT fee.
Ask for 0.00% BT no BT fee, if they say NO, ask for 5.90% no BT fee.

Jane,
Thanks for your post! Are you referring to the Discover Platinum offer? If so, there is NO balance transfer fee for the initial balance transfer (assuming you are not an existing Discover customer).
The fee I believe you are referring to is for cash advances. Cash advances are treated differently.
Let us know how things turn out!

Yes, I just applied for a Discover Card 0% for six months offer with no balance transfer fee. But be careful, in the fine print they say that you must use the special form checks (included with their offer application) to get the no balance transfer fee. Otherwise, "gottcha!" - you are going to pay a balance transfer fee.
