I filed for bankruptcy 8 yrs.ago I have had 1 credit card since and closed it out. I have credit at several local banks and have several unsecured loans that are paid on time every time each month. I have a home and car which I pay on every month on time. Also have a sears acc. with no balance and is in good standing as all the others. I have been offered cards thru snail mail and never respond to them. I have filed online for 2 cards and they turn me down. WHY ?
Another question is where can I find a card?
I don’t understand them turning me down all my credit dealings since the bankruptcy have all been good.I never asked for or wanted a card until recently, I’m coming to the end of the 10 yr period soon surely someone will give me a card with terms I can live with.If I need to do something for my report to be more favorable where do I turn?

What were their reasons for denial, they normally list them in the denial letter . Also have you checked your reports lately?? Whatever agency they used for denying you credit you are entitled to a free report for 60 days.

I never got an actual reason for denial.I think the co. was trw does that sound right? I don’t really need a card to use but when I take a trip they always want a credit card for res. and so on, I always pay cash when I’m done. I use my in-laws with there permission of course, I’m attached to it I just want my own it only has to have a 200 dollar limit cause I never use it.

Take your denial letter, and write to the credit bureau who gave them the information. Ask for your free copy of your credit report, so you can see what is on it. TRW is Experian now. You can get Trans Union’s report at http://www.worthknowing.com for free (mine was current and accurate). The third reporting agency is Equifax. If no one has turned you down using Equifax, you can buy it at their website. You need to find out what it is. This is no big mystery you are not allowed to understand, it is your information. You should check and make sure it is accurate.
