hi
there are so many debt consolidation sites on the
net, and they all seem to say the same basic
things: they'll work with your cc companies
to get you a lower APR and a lower min. payment..
are these offers on the up and up?
and if so, can anyone recommend one?
i'm looking for the best way to tackle my
insane debt!

You'll find that many of the people on this board have little or no faith in debt consolidation services because they don't do anything that you couldn't do yourself. Ho bad is your debt? Are you able to make minimum monthly payments? Are you employed? Take advantage of low introductory balance transfer rates. Apply for a few of these offers and transfer funds away from high interest cards. That alone can save you thousands in finance charges. I paid off $40,000.00 in credit card debt a lot earlier than I might have by taking full advantage of intro rates. If you're a home owner you might consider a home equity loan which has the advantage of tax deductable interest.

thanks for the feedback...i'm about
$15k in the hole with credit card debts..
so far i've always been able to make more than
my monthly payment, i'm employed, and i've got
very good credit...i just want to se the light
at the end of the tunnel!
i've just applied for the Pulaski card with a %6.5
fixed APR--sounds great to me! sure there's an annual fee,
but that's the bext fixed APR i've seen.

Neil,
Thanks for your post! Just an FYI...In case you didn't know, you will need an excellent credit rating to qualify for the Pulaski card. It may be hard to qualify if your cards are maxed out...I hope this isn't the case. Let us know how things turn out for you and good luck!
