I posted recently I rec’d the “phone-in-offer” of 1.9% for 1 year through Chase Manhatten for their Platinum Visa, but after researching more on this board and going to the recomended links, I am really afraid of what kind of deal I really signed up for. I regret doing it over the phone, for I have no record of the agreement. When I went to the site that compares card rating for consumers, it was confusing. Some people were very positive on Chase and others very negative about surprises, incorrect charges not being cleared, and the dramatic raising of rates. I hope I haven’t been foolish! I have 2 cards now with a credit union that is stable, trustworthy, with rates at 10.45, and 10.99%. I wonder if I should just stick with them and get out of the Chase deal as soon as I can. I just wanted to whittle down our debt a little faster, so I got excited about the 1.99% deal. Any one use Chase? I know one person posted after me that their rates went very high after the intro period — anyone else? I am wondering in general,if credit card companies stick it those who use the intro rates and are fairer to those who sign in at higher rates, just curious?!

Chase is a well known Bank.. Well established in Credit Card Business.. It would not hurt to use the1.9 Interest rate on your present debt that is at a higher rate for the promotional period.. It will only save you money.. After the promo rate is up and if you still want to close go ahead, but take advantage of saving money

I have a Chase Platinum; nothing bad to say about them except that the rates are pretty high if you don’t pay off every month (19.8?%) I did work with them recently when I had a $6000 home repair and got credit checks for 5.9% thru March which was a really good deal, but they weren’t willing to lower my interest rate at all. I’ve recently switched to Fleet, which offered a 1.9% balance transfer.
