Just to let you know, I just received in the mail an offer from Capital One.
7.9% APR fixed on balance transfers for the whole term of the balance. Not
just 6 months or so, until the balance is paid off. This is a platinum Visa
card offer based on a person’s financial performance.

Julie, did you find out if this is true. I thought when I
transferred all my accounts to next that they agreed to 9.9 for life too…..haaaaaa. 16.9 so I would be very interested if your outcome. thanks Diane

Yep, you’re right - the offer is usually stated “prime plus 6.9%, or whatever” - people only hear (or read) the “6.9%” - kind of works like “up to….” and “as low as…” - folks hear what they want to hear - marketing depts count on it!

Thanks. I got a invitation to a card that I already have offering me a lower interest and I am going to call and see what they can do about that….weird…Diane
