Hi guys, I heard that credit inquiries will do harm to my credit record, is that true? Does that mean simply applying for credit cards are bad to my record since the creditors are certainly going to get my credit history from the reporting bureaus.
Thank you very much!

Sylvia,
Yes, too many credit inquiries within a short period of time are bad, a few aren't.

This is one of the most frequently asked questions on this board, and one where I usually disagree with the majority, thanks to my own personal experience. During a four year period I applied for and received 37 credit cards. Would that have happened if I was penalized for too many inquiries? I say no, it doesn't hurt, and it makes no sense for it to hurt, unless you have bad credit to begin with, or you apply for more cards than are warranted by your income and currently available credit. Banks make no money if they don't put cards out there.

1)Does NET First National Bank have a special program of issuing credit cards to individuals with no credit or bad credit.
2) If so, does NET First National Bank EXPECT the individual to provide his or her bank account number as well as bank routing number as a proof that the individual has a checking account.
3) A friend of mine has been approached with the questions asked above by a so-called representative from NET First National Bank. I need to verify if the approach was legitimate.
Thank you
