I was hit with a $29 late fee, they say they (chase) got my full balance 2 days late and will not revoke the fee.I have sent them a final payment of all outstanding purchases including the interast for that month and and verbally informed them to close the card, yet the still are billing me for it ,any sugestions?

I really hate when you ask the credit card company to close the account and they don't...ugh.
You need to do two things 1) send Chase's Customer Service Department a letter stating to close your account (send certified mail); 2) contact Chase, via phone, speak to someone in customer service telling them to close the account and to send you a letter that the account is closed, has a $0 balance, and will report to the CRAs "closed by consumer".
I prefer to talk to someone via phone, because I usually get a name and extention #. Some CC's seem to ignore written correspondence, for some reason, but it is always good to send written proof that you want the account closed.

thanks,I did that when I sent in the final payment, though it wasn`t sent certified, they credited my acct.and billed it like I over paid the balance includeing the late fee, then billed me this month for 2 purchases that were included in the final payment, less the credited amount, the balance left this month is the $29 late fee.they would rather loose a customer then do what is right.

If you DON'T pay the late fee or get it credited back...the next month you will have interest and a late fee on the late fee...
Call on the phone RIGHT NOW and ask if they really intend on losing a customer over a $29.00 FALSE LATE FEE CHARGE???
