Relief From High Gas Prices with a Gas Rewards Credit Card

With gasoline taking a larger bite out of our budget these days, a Gas Rewards credit card with "Cash Back" rebates can provide some relief.

Many cards offer 5% or more cash back on your gas purchase. Now that the price of gas has exceeded $3 per gallon, a Gas Rewards credit card could add up to significant savings.

Another bonus is that most Gas Rewards credit cards offer cash back on other purchases as well, such as at supermarkets and drugstores.

Here are some of my favorites for Gas Rewards:

*Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa
*Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card
*Citi Drivers Edge Platinum Select
*American Express Blue Cash

The caveat on rewards cards of any kind is that in order for the reward (in this case rebates) you must pay off your balance in full every month. Traditionally rewards cards take a higher interest rate than non-rewards cards.

BTW, the Hess card from Chase offers a 10% rebate for the first 90 days on Hess purchases only.
