Does anyone know if the FTC has finally come up with a time limit or other regulation which governs the processing of credit card (or other) payments made by electronic means (internet)...?
I'm specifically interested in payment being made prior to, or on, the due date - and then late fees being assessed while a company takes their sweet old time processing the said payment.
I know that there is a FTC regulation which states that payment made by, and postmarked prior to, or on the due date is considered to be adequate for having met the requirements to avoid late fee accrual.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

On the due date is cutting it to close.

One or two days before due date (excluding weekends)should be concidered "on-time".

Army Wife,

Had the same problem with some of my cards. I use USAA bill pay and called the credit card company's to get them to change the billing dates. They did with no problems. I pay them all on the first and they are there about 2 weeks before the due date. We will always have that problem when we move. If he is deploying don't forget about the Soldiers and Saliors relief Act. All of my cards lowered the interest rate to 6%. Took numerous times with Providian but saved me alot in interest fees. Everyone that I sent it in to was more than helpful, even Providian. Just remember never be late with the DPP payment (LOL). Good Luck and we know what you are going through.
