Post subject: MBNA Credit Card Approval
Ok, I submitted an application online to MBNA, called the next day and talked to a credit analyst, she was very nice we went over my credit report and score. She said we can start you with a 7500 CL at 7.9
I said great can do a balance transfer she said yes and I gave her the info. This was all on the 14th of Sept. She then told me that I would recieve the card in 5 business days.
Today is the 25th and no card and no BT. I checked the CIti card online.
Do you think they retracted of are they just slow?

I'd give them till Wednesday. IF you don't get the card and the BT did not go through, call up MBNA and find out what the holdup is.
Note, it did take me a month to get my MBNA card in the mail and BT's normally take about 1-2 weeks.

Do you think they retracted of are they just slow?
There is a chance that it could have gone to a secondary review and the approval could have been overturned to a decline... Usually you would receive a telephone call if this had happened.. In regards to the BT. disclosures usually say wait 10-14 days for payments on your creditors accounts... Call 800 421 2110 and ask the specialist to look you application up .. They will be able to tell you when the card, ect was sent..

The same thing happend to me. That's why I ended up here, wondering if something's going on. I hope it's just a delay from the hurricanes or some legitimate reason for not having received the card after having been told by the person on the phone that I was approved for around $7,000 and it would arrive in I think two days.

Is it hard to get an MBNA card? What is the minimum score they'd accept for approval?

They pulled EXP with a 704 FICO no bads lates high util though, did a BT to get the util down.

I got MBNA alumni affiliate card six years ago with no credit. (I didn't have bad credit either, I just hadn't done anything credit-wise yet, good or bad).
