Has anyone tried to "product-trade" another Chase Visa card for the above new one? I have a free cash rewards card (only 1%) and I was wondering whether the Cash Plus card, which is better, is too new to "trade"?

MBNA used to switch cards all the time to give customers the benefit of a better offer. I'm not sure about Chase. However, why ask people here what Chase is going to do when you can just as easily call Chase yourself, which is what you'd have to do anyway. Let us know what they say.

You can switch from Free Cash Rewards to Cash Plus Rewards(is like Citi's Dividend Platinum).

Ira, as it turns out, I did call Chase. They said that they can do it, and in addition, they can just switch my reward program without switching the card ! This is great, since my "Free Cash Rewards" card is a Visa Signature card, which is better than just platinum.
I will wait until I get to 2500 points to switch (I am just over 500) since I can then get a $25 check without forfeiting the reward.
This may take awhile, since I use this card AFTER AMEX cashback and Citi Dividend.
This card sounds just like Citi Dividend (which is good).

Yup! I actually called them to try to cancel an old Chase credit card I had since I recently got the new one (with the 5%/1% program). They immediately offered me the same incentive for the old card without having to get a new one.

I called Chase to add "Cash Plus" reward to my Chase Visa. No go, they could only to do the "Free Cash" (1%) rewards.
Need a new 5% on every day purchases card because I'm mad a Citi right now. They gave me a puny credit line for my Dividend card and after 9 months of heavy use they only raised the credit limit from 2.8K to 3.8K. Which doesn't make any sense since I have several cards over 10K.
Anyway called Chase and applied for a Chase Cash Plus reward card. Assuming I'm approved I'll get 10000 points = $100. 0% apr on purchases and balance transfers for 15 billing cycles and the %5 back on every day purchases. Only thing more I could ask for would be no fee on balance transfers.
Maybe Citi will behave better once they sit in my sock drawer for a few months.
