Hello:
Last year, AmEx, in a partnership with 7-11 stores, came out with two "pre-paid" credit cards: one geared towards internet useage - the other was called a 'gift card', to be used in stores.
Does anyone know if any similar cards are available?

Yes, Bank of America has both a "pre-paid" card called the Visa Buxx card and gift cards. Both are available on their website-www.bankofamerica.com Hope this helps!

I thank you for your prompt answer, Misty.
I checked out BoA's site concerning their 'gift card', but it isn't the same as AmEx's card (was): BoA requires you to use the phone or web to order a card; AmEx allowed you to go into any 7-11 and purchase one. In addition, the BoA card is not refillable, whereas the AmEx card was. Last, the BoA card has a much lower stored value.
So, I am still looking, but can't seem to find any.

Sorry that the gift card program wasn't exactly what you were looking for. I'm not aware of any programs that allow you to buy a prepaid card from a store like 7-11-not to say that there isn't one out there! Did you review the information about the Visa Buxx card? I think it's geared more toward's teenagers but it is reloadable and I'm not sure how much you're looking to spend but the max amount you can deposit is $1000. You can get more info at www.bankofamerica.com/visabuxx. Again, from the website it looks like it's more for teens but I'm sure anyone can get one. Sorry if this isn't what you were looking for either, but I tried!! Good luck!
