Based on mailings I’ve received, I’ve been trying to decide between a student MBNA card and a student CApital One card. I’ve read that Capital One has easy approval and wondered how MBNA compares in that regard. The MBNA card has lower rates, fees, etc. but I don’t plan on having to pay those anyway by paying on-time and in-full. Which card should I apply for with the best chance of approval and best features? Thanks

If you are a full time college student , and you do not have any negative credit , you would automatically qualify for a Card from MBNA.. It can vary anywhere from 500.00 to 2000.00, based on you year in College.. MBNA just has to verify your enrollment, ect . In regards to Capitol One.. I do not know..
Good Luck

I can tell you that MBNA has generally better customer service than Capital One.
Also, because you will be paying your balance in full each month, it makes sense to choose a card with the longest grace period.

MBNA is the better choice. By establishing a long term relationship with them, you will probably get a plat. card when you graduate. With Capital One, on the other hand, they offer plat. benefits to very few people and it is hard to get upgraded from their standard or gold card.
MBNA customer service is excellent. Capital One’s is luck of the draw.
