Hello,
I didn’t see this in your reviews, A Chase Platinum Visa card. It offers a 1.99% APR fixed rate for 12 months on a transfered balance. I received this via the mail in a preapproved advertisement. The reason I’m looking at this is to transfer a $15000.00 balance on a B of A Visa @19.9%.
Could you advise me if this is a good choice?
Thank you,
Keith

SOUNDS GOOD, but you can also ask B of A to REDUCE the rate to the 9.99% one.

Thank you for your quick responce, I asked B of A to look at reducing the rate there responce from a Customer Service Manager was because the majority of the balance came from cash advances there best rate is 19.9%. I have great credit and have never been late on a payment.
Thanks again,
Keith

If he can get 1.99% from Chase, why would he want 9.99% from B of A?

But will this 1.99% hold for cash advances too? Keith had mentioned that the 19.9% on his current card could not be reduced “because the majority of the balance came from cash advances there best rate is 19.9%.”
All the best

Go for it! That’s a great deal if you can get it. Even if Chase doesn’t give you a $15,000 credit limit, transfer as much as you can to the new card, but remember to leave yourself a cushion. For instance, if they give you a $10,000.00 limit, don’t transfer more than, say, $9,925.00. If you transfer the full $10,000.00, the finance charges for the first month will send you over limit and you’ll be zapped with an over-limit charge of close to $30.00. Small thing, but caution is always the watch word.
