Can anyone help me understand the process to obtain membership into the MasterCard association of banks. For example, if you are a nationally chartered bank what are the steps, criteria, cost of gaining admission.

I contacted MasterCard (1 800 MC ASSIST) and the representative I spoke with advised me of their switch board number (914) 249 2000 (Open Monday through Friday). She explained to me that you could get into contact with someone who could walk you through the steps to begin issuing cards with the MasterCard logo. I’m not sure about the costs of membership or the criteria - hopefully the number I provided will allow you to contact someone with those answers.
