Every credit card we apply for gets turned down because of a bankruptcy over 7 years ago. We have a great Fico score and our credit reports look great, except for that bankruptcy. Is there any credit card company that will approve us for a card?

Post subject: Reestablishing Credit

I filed a bankruptcy in 1999.
In March of 2000, I was offered a credit
card with a $1,000 credit limit.
I paid $69 to open the account and the
interest rate was 23.9%.
I wanted a credit card to reestablish my credit.
I’ve kept this account current & my credit limit
was increased.
My question is — with my past & current credit
history, is there another credit card I can transfer
my balance to that has a lower interest rate?

Thank you for your help,
Lynne

The short answer is mabe. It depends on your credit rating. There are numerous cards you can apply for which have low intro balance transfer rates. You might look in the Card Reports section of this board and pick one or two to apply for.
